Stage Neck Inn is situated in York Harbor, Maine. We offer a year-round Gift Shop which features gift items, sundries, and souvenirs. Including Made in Maine or All About Maine food/products is a priority. The people of Maine are known for their wonderful work ethic. We have certainly found this to be true with our own Inn staff! We want to support local companies and share their fantastic workmanship with you.
Maine is the "Pine Tree State" and one of the most heavily-wooded states in the Northeast. One of the most-recent additions to the Stage Neck Inn Gift Shop is Pure Maple Syrup harvested from maple trees in Maine by Hilltop Boilers, llc. This syrup has been bottled specifically for the Inn and features a branded label graphic for Stage Neck Inn. It's become very popular with our guests. It has a delightful flavor that is not overly sweet and the pouring consistency is nice.
Haven's Candies have been "Keeping Maine Sweet for 100 Years!" We offer a selection of Maine-made candy from Haven's. Shown here is their Premium Caramel Corn. We offer other Haven's Candies selections like peanut brittle, pistachios and assorted nuts, old-fashioned jelly beans, sea salt caramels, and chocolates. These products are created using original recipes and all-natural ingredients.
Speaking of natural ... we are so thrilled to offer our guests all natural products from Seaglass Soapworks. These products are made by our own Reservations Manager, Dawn Millbury. Dawn used to suffer from extremely dry skin. She began making the products for herself after reading that most commercial soaps contain detergents. "I quickly saw improvement in my skin. At Christmas, I gave some my soaps to my fellow workers yet never imagining they'd become a staple offering in the Gift Shop."
Dawn creates her own special scents, which capture the essence of the Maine coast or that vacation spirit ... SeaSalt & Driftwood, Sun & Sand, Coconut Lime plus classic scents like Lavendar. "Many return guests have become loyal Seaglass Soapworks customers because they've also seen improvement in the condition of their skin. The Lip Balm is also very popular. While it does not contain sunscreen, it does contain a lot of vitamin E and is very moisturizing." Guests are able to contact Dawn for repeat ordering via email (SeaGlassSoapworks AT comcast DOT net).
When the Carrabassett Coffee Company was just starting out, it's owner and the owner of Stage Neck Inn happened to meet while skiing at Sugarloaf. Carrabassett offered to create a customized blend of coffee for the Inn and "a star was born"! "We began serving the coffee in our restaurants as well as offering it for guests in our Upper Lobby. The response was wonderful and we began selling our private label 'Stage Neck Blend' of light and dark roast coffees in the Gift Shop," Phoebe adds. This coffee is still served today and is available in our Gift Shop.
The Gift Shop also includes seasonal gift items which capture the essence of Maine. Included in the header image is one such products which serves as a great Maine souvenir ... seasonal door bells, crafted out of rugged leather with detailed brass bells. This offering captures some of the history of this area as sleigh bells were an important aspect of winter travel on the windy and narrow New England roads. These handcrafted bells are made by New England Bells.
York is particularly rich, both with her natural beauty and her historic landmarks. It's also been the scene for many a summer romance. We are thrilled to offer a novel by Jody Clark "The Empty Beach" which is set in York Harbor. We have some signed copies! It's a great read for guests, giving unique perspectives of our wonderful coastal town.
If you're looking for Made in Maine products or gifts, be sure to stop by the Stage Neck Inn Gift Shop. It is here, not only for our overnight guests, but also for locals and those visiting the southern Maine coast area.
