On January 17, 2014, AAA announced that Stage Neck Inn is among the properties they have designated with the AAA Four Diamond Award for 2014. When reviewing the list of properties that have earned this distinction since its inception in 1976 (PDF list here), one will note that Stage Neck Inn is among select company ... in fact, only 10 properties in the entire US are among this group. When you look at this list and see that Stage Neck Inn is essentially in a top-ten list, this is further qualified by the fact that AAA has 59,000 properties which are either approved or have earned a rating of 1 through 5 Diamonds.
Stage Neck Inn General Manager, Phoebe Apgar-Pressey, along with the Inn's owners and staff are pleased that their long-term commitment to offering excellence to their guests has resulted in this long-term distinction. "Our focus has always been upon doing justice to this spectacular location we have to offer and to providing the best possible guest experience. Many of our team members have been working at Stage Neck Inn for decades and that long-term commitment and continuity is part of what makes the Inn shine."
The following information is supplied by AAA: To be AAA Approved, properties must pass an unannounced, on-site evaluation. Hotels must provide acceptable cleanliness, comfort and hospitality, and restaurants must meet requirements for cleanliness, food preparation and service. After an establishment is Approved, the AAA inspector reviews an extensive list of attributes to determine the appropriate rating level, on a scale of One to Five Diamonds, based on the extensiveness of services, facilities and amenities.
